El Centro de Estudios de Asia y África (CEAA) at El Colegio de México, Mexico City, is proud to host the 2025 Western Conference of the Association of Asian Studies annual conference. This year’s theme is “Resilience, Cooperation, Progress.” In the face of rising isolationism and populism globally, how do citizens, scholars and activists maintain ties? How does civil society adapt? What kinds of connections can be made to overcome isolationism?

We invite submissions for panel and paper proposals with a wide variety of themes, but hope to encourage conversation with this year’s theme in mind, including conversations between Latin America, North America, and Asia.

 We look forward to your contributions and to fostering meaningful discussions at this year’s conference!
